Pasti ramai antara kita yang melihat acara keirin akhir yang melibatkan pelumba negara iaitu Azizulhasni Awang. Seperti yang kita semua tahu, beliau mendapat tempat keenam dari semua pelumba.
Walaupun mendapat tempat keenam, kita rakyat Malaysia tetap boleh berbangga dengan pencapaian beliau. Bukan mudah untuk anak Melayu dapat peluang bersaing di peringkat Olimpik. Untuk entri kali ini saya ingin berkongsi serba sedikit latar belakang beliau.

His calf muscle was skewered by a 20cm shard of the wooden track during a crash in the keirin final at the 2011 World Cup event in Manchester. The crash, coming of the final bend, wiped out five of the six participants with Awang managing to get back on his bike to claim bronze before collapsing to the floor and being stretchered to hospital.
